.. I come home today from being out with a few friends, and my mom says "oh, well it's about time you got home!"
I laugh, because I'm simply use to this kind of outburst from my mother.
.. my dad!? Well, he's sitting at the table... working a puzzle.. he says, "Hello, Mares, I've missed you.."
Now, I believe that's a welcoming, don't ya think!?
.. I do belive so!
I laughed, and, of course, I mentioned to my mom that dad's greeting was a bit more welcoming then hers. She rolled her eyes, and says that he's just trying to get points since he's rarely home.. he works so much..
.. of course, the old man gets a hug.
What does mom get, you ask!? The gossip! ;) That's usually what she wants.. or, I get the earful of gossip.. either way, it works out..
I get along wonderfully with my parents, but I'm most definitely my dad's little girl..
.. and I wouldn't trade that honor in for the world..
He's a pretty damn good guy in my book.
Gotta love the old man! ;)
And on a day like this, I must say that I'm thankful for the family I have.. that they are here.. able to hug and comfort me in times of need.. to greet me when I come home with a "It's about time you got home" *which is most definitely a way of mom's love for me. it means she missed my company!* or a "I missed you Mares.."
.. to know I'm loved..
That's what I'm thankful for.
